Wellrun is a music application for runners that utilizes your personal music on your mobile device, in order to improve your performances during your training.
Wellrun uses a personal algorithm that is customized according to your weight, height, sex and age: the app analyzes all the music on your mobile device and creates a playlist selecting the songs on your device according to the intensity of the training chosen.
Wellrun has two settings to choose from:
QUICK TRAINING: With this setting the user chooses among six different speed training options that are available.
PERSONALIZED TRAINING: In this option the user has the ability to create his or her own personal training setting, using criteria like speed, time, and distance. (21 km in 1h30; 50 minutes at 4.20 minutes per km; 10 km at 9km/h).
In this setting the user can also create a training with variations in speed, rhythm and distance. After the user creates his or her personalized training, the app will be programmed to automatically convert into different speeds during the training. For example, in a training of 20 km one can run 5 km at a slow pace (9-10 km/h), 10 km at a faster pace (13-14 km/h), 2 km at maximum speed (15-16 km/h), and the last 3 km at a slower pace as a cool down.
A first time user must input his or her weight, height, sex and age: this way Wellrun is tailor made according to the physic of the user.
Wellrun commences by scanning all the songs on the mobile device of the user. It identifies the rhythm of each song according to BPM (beats per minutes): each beat corresponds to a step.
When the user chooses or creates the training, Wellrun calculates automatically the number of steps per minute according to the physical information the user provides. Furthermore, it creates a playlist out of the music on the device with the BPM matching the rhythm (i.e. the speed) of the training.
Well run helps you keep the speed you choose for your training. You just have to follow the rhythm of the music!
